Flanagan, Tegenkamp, Infeld to Run USA Cross Country ChampionshipsPublished by
The fields are starting to come together for the 2013 USA Cross Country Championships, which take place on Saturday, February 2 in St. Louis, Missouri. While athletes such as Olympian Kim Conley and Chris Derrick had previously committed to the event, a trio of stars are officially competing in the championship. Announced Saturday afternoon on Twitter, Portland-based teammates Shalane Flanagan and Emily Infeld are officially entered in the women's 6k race. Flanagan tweeted out her excitment:
In addition to Flanagan and Infeld, another Jerry Schumacher coached athlete, Matt Tegenkamp is now entered. The St. Louis organizing committee voiced their excitment over Tegenkamp's entry, as he grew up in Missouri and adds some elite local flavor to the event.
